AFFF foam and water additive extinguishers have been shown to contain PFAS chemicals that are harmful to the environment, people, and wildlife. We have discontinued the sale of all AFFF foam extinguishers. The lasting harmful impact of these ‘forever chemicals’ is unnecessary when suitable alternatives exist.

The fluorine compounds (PFAS) which equip AFFF foam extinguishers with their firefighting qualities are toxic compounds. The environmental presence of PFAS is detrimental to ecosystems, and to human health. Legislative change to prohibit the manufacture and sale of AFFF foam extinguishers in the UK is expected imminently. This is expected to result in a total ban on their use.
